So last night was a perfect example of why procrastination is bad. No sleep. (notice relation to the title, eh? eh?)
It was also a perfect example of how I manage to create something I’m actually proud of under extreme pressure. That doesn’t necessarily make this a good way to attack a project. Sometimes I’d rather actually attack my projects. That’s a bad idea though. Do not try it.
My desk is currently a mess of mangled corrugated cardboard. Stay tuned for that one, it’ll make sense in a week or two.
Right. Last night. As I was saying, I did some drawings last night. The project was called “Concept of Dominance”, and I had already designed and created three sculptures using three of the same elements: planar, mass, and linear forms. And in each sculpture I had to make a different element “dominate”. What I had to do after I finished gluing those together (took lots of clamps and glue and time!) was draw them at different scales: a sculpture, a building, and a piece of furniture. So, by changing up my horizon line and fooling around with vanishing points and such, I think I successfully accomplished this. And now I’m really tired.
- this was the last one of the night, so slightly less carefully drawn lines.
Thank you for your time. If you have more time (more importantly, if I have more time), hopefully I’ll put up some earlier stuff from this month. It’s amazing how much stuff they make you do in such a short amount of time in university. Yes, now I believe you teachers, this is insane.
